What is this? Getting into YACHTWAVE for the first time, or signing back in. YACHTWAVE uses a password-less login — no password to remember, no password to forget.
The Basics
YACHTWAVE doesn’t use passwords. Instead, every time you sign in, a four-digit verification code is sent to your registered mobile phone via text message. You enter that code in the app and you’re in.
The flow:
- Enter your email address on the sign-in screen and tap Sign in now.
- Read the Terms and Conditions window and tap Agree.
- YACHTWAVE sends a four-digit code to the mobile number associated with that email.
- Check your text messages and type the code into the app. As soon as all four digits are in, the app checks the code for you. (If a code was wrong, enter the new one and tap Verify.)
- You’re signed in. The app remembers you on this device so you don’t have to do this every time.
If you don’t have an account yet, tap Create an Account on the same screen and enter your name, email, and mobile number. If you type an email that has no account, the app opens the new-account form for you with that email filled in. Your first login still uses the same code-by-text verification.
Key Things on This Screen
- Email field — Your registered email address. Case-insensitive.
- Sign in now button — Sends the verification code to your registered phone.
- Create an Account link — Opens the new-account form.
- Verification modal — Where you enter the four-digit code after it arrives by text.
- Didn’t receive a code? Click to resend — If the text doesn’t arrive within a minute or so, tap Click to resend rather than retyping your email. A new code is sent at most once every three minutes; tapping again sooner shows the same message but does not send another text.
How to Create an Account
- Tap Create an Account on the sign-in screen.
- Enter your First name, Last name, and Email.
- Choose your Country Code and enter your Mobile number. This is where verification codes will go — get it right.
- Read the note under the form: by continuing you agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy (tap either to read it).
- Tap CREATE ACCOUNT.
- Check your text messages for the four-digit code and enter it.
- You’re in. The app drops you on the My Boats screen — your next step is to add your first boat. See My Boats.
How to Sign in on a New Device
- Open YACHTWAVE on the new device.
- Enter your email address.
- Tap Sign in now, then Agree on the Terms and Conditions window.
- Wait for the text-message code and enter it.
- Your boats, history, settings, and crew memberships all appear — everything is cloud-backed.
Tips
- Use a phone number that you actually carry. The verification code is texted there, so a phone that’s plugged in at home isn’t useful when you’re sitting on the dock.
- A new phone? No big deal. Just sign in on the new device with your email; the code goes to your old number (unless you’ve updated it under My Account → Edit Profile). Your boats and data are intact in the cloud — nothing is stored only on the phone.
- No password to lose. Every login is a fresh code. This is more secure than a password and it means you can’t forget anything.
Troubleshooting
- “I’m not getting the verification text.” — Check that you’re using the right email (the one tied to your account). If your mobile number has changed, contact
[email protected]and the team can update it after verifying your identity. If your network is unusual (overseas, VPN, satellite), see the next item. - “I keep getting blocked when I try to sign in.” — Our network security may have flagged your IP address as high-risk (a false positive — usually triggered by VPNs, overseas networks, or shared cellular IPs). Email
[email protected]with your email address and the team will manually whitelist you, usually same day. - “My account is locked.” — Sometimes accounts are temporarily locked by our email provider after a spam complaint (even one you didn’t make). Email
[email protected]and the team will review and unlock — typically within a day. You’ll keep all your data; only mailing-list emails are paused. - “I’m a new user, and my email got rejected.” — Our system uses a third-party email validator that can be over-aggressive. Email
[email protected]with the address you’re trying to use and the team will whitelist you. - “I want to sign in to my account on someone else’s phone for a minute.” — Sure — same flow. When you’re done, go to the bottom tab bar → My Account → Logout so the device doesn’t stay logged in.
Frequently Asked
Why no password?
Password-less is more secure (no password to phish, leak, or reuse) and more convenient (nothing to remember). The four-digit code requires possession of your phone, which is harder for an attacker to fake than a password.
My phone number changed. How do I update it?
After signing in on your old device (or via support if you've lost access), open the bottom tab bar → My Account → Edit Profile and update your mobile number. The app sends a code to the new number to confirm it. Future codes will go to the new number.
Is my data on the device, or in the cloud?
Cloud. YACHTWAVE is fully cloud-based — your vessel's data is always available on any device, anywhere. There's no manual backup to make, and no risk of losing everything to a wet phone.
How long does a verification code last?
A few minutes. If you take too long, tap Click to resend for a fresh one.
Why was my sign-up refused?
YACHTWAVE is available in selected regions. If sign-up is refused where you are, email support and tell us where you're located.
Is YACHTWAVE free?
Free for individual boat owners using the app for personal use. There are paid editions for yacht managers and fleet operators — see Subscription & Licensing.
