How These Declarations Are Made
The 2.4 GHz radio inside YachtLINK™ is a pre-certified module, so the finished product is assessed as an unintentional radiator and declared against the electromagnetic-compatibility, safety, radio, cybersecurity, and substance-restriction standards that apply in each market. Where a market requires a locally established contact — a US responsible party, an EU Authorised Representative, or an Australian responsible supplier — that party is named on the relevant statement. The US responsible party is YACHTWAVE; the EU Authorised Representative and UK Importer/Authorised Representative is Euverify Ltd; the Australian Responsible Supplier / Agent is Global Approvals Pty Ltd (ABN 34 695 419 419).
Safety & Installation
These are the instructional safeguards that accompany the product under EN 62368-1 and RED Art. 10(8), summarised from the controlled Product Safety Instructions (Doc No. YW-SIN-CE-001); the full set ships in the user manual's safety section.
- Power: supply only from a 9–16 V DC (SELV) NMEA 2000® network, through the standard M12 (Micro-C) connector. Never connect to mains — the product has no mains connection and no battery.
- Installation: permanent, fixed installation inside the vessel, away from heat sources, with a minimum separation of 20 cm from persons in normal operation. Install with the network powered off, then restore power.
- Environment: ingress protection IPX5 (IEC 60529) — protected against water jets. Do not submerge. Ambient temperature ≤ 65 °C.
- Service: no user-serviceable parts. Do not open the enclosure. Unauthorised modification voids conformity.
- Cabling: use a certified NMEA 2000® drop cable; observe network termination and the LEN budget (LEN: 2), and ensure the backbone is fused per NMEA 2000® practice.
- Disposal: at end of life, dispose of the product as electrical/electronic equipment (WEEE) — not with household waste.
